Manual Defrosting

The main advantage of manual defrosting chest freezer is that it allow constant temperature throughout which allow more energy saving. A manual defrost freezer may use up to 40 percent less energy than a self-defrosting model. A manual defrost freezer does not contain heating elements, which reduces the overall energy use of the appliance.

It is recommended to do manual defrosting when the frost inside your freezer has become quarter inches thick. This is to ensure maximum energy efficiency and achieve the best performance.

How to Defrost your Chest Freezer

Step 1

Remove all the freezer items

Step 2

Switch off the electrical power and open the door fully to allow all the frost to be melted

Remove inner drain cover by turning counter clockwise

Step 4

Remove the outer drain stick by turning counter clockwise and allow water to be drain out

Wipe dry freezer internal and install back the drain stick and drain cover by turning clockwise

Turn on the freezer and allow the freezer to be cool before placing food inside
